"One of these days" Artie might not be there in time. But that day wasn't the one. Artie had been chilly when they parted, but now Jim was home, intending to make it up to Artie. "Artie." The wrong man stood by the fireplace. "I'm your new partner," Pike said. "Artie's gone to Washington," Richmond said. Jim knew "one of these days" had just arrived. |
